TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

During the evening of Tuesday 6th May I uploaded a batch of files to the web site which refreshed all the existing pages. The objective was to make the site more compliant with modern web browsers and to perform a "spring clean". Both parts of this were overdue as the site has grown somewhat organically over the years. In addition, several enhancements to the database pages have been made.

However, in my eagerness to clean up, I deleted a folder which contained system files needed to display pages formed of "PHP". In simple terms, these files are necessary to allow dynamic pages to be served, such as the various databases on the site. The fact that you are seeing this page means you have tried to use one of those databases.

I quickly realised that I wasn't able to resolve the issue alone and raised a support request with the company who host the web site. As I type, nearly 24 hours later, that request has yet to be actioned. The fact remains that it is entirely my fault that things are not as they should be.

I apologise for the inconvenience that these databases being down may cause. As you might imagine, it has taken the shine off what should have been quite an enjoyable moment given the amount of work which went into refreshing the site. I hope normal service will resume very soon.
